RE: Taylor Park Colorado
Trail conditions update: May 22, 2014
Most Colorado mountain trails are still closed from a record snow year and heavy late spring snows. Many areas have received several feet of snow in May that won't be melted out until late June. Taylor Park (popular riding area)is NOT yet open. The main access road to Taylor Park, (Cottonwood Pass) is still snowed in.

OHV Permit stickers are required on ALL trail vehicles even if licensed, $25.25. The permits can be purchased at most Colorado motorcycle dealerships. No permit is a $75 fine. The $25.25 fee goes to trail maintenance.

Sound Law: ALL ATVs and dirt bikes must be 96dBa or less. Over 200 law enforcement officers have been trained and carry sound meters. $100 fine. Please do NOT ride our trails with LOUD exhaust systems. More sound equals LESS ground. Please don't be part of the problem. Install a quiet muffler.

Spark arrestors: All ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes must have a USFS approved spark-arrestor. $125 fine

County and USFS Roads: These are NOT race tracks. Please obey speed limits. (25-35mph in most areas) Many/most of the county and FS dirt roads require the vehicle to be street legal (lights, plates, insurance) and the driver to be license

RE: Taylor Park Colorado
Carol and I have been very busy getting all of the stuff ready for Colorado for the last 2 months and have had no time to work on website or any thing else. Here is some pictures of what we have been up to, fixing up motor home is just 1 of our projects.
. We had done the upholstery work on Motor Home, couch and Carol dyed the carpet dark blue with dye in 10 gallon sprayer tank with hot water and dye. Wired trailer brake control running along factory wiring harness on frame of Motor Home and mounted control on right side of dash so I can reach easy while driving, Nice system with adjustments of 3 boosts for light or heavy trailer and even a finer adjustment if needed. Transferable to another vehicle with factory plugs you can order and get second mounts. Also had to replace all wood on Monty’s car hauler because it was rotten, big job and we bought PT wood for around $350.00 and installed and used rust treatment on all metal on trailer while we had wood off. Built a spare tire mount on car hauler and Monty bought a spare for it and I bought a good hitch lock and a wheel locking chalk for trailer.

Paint the front of Motor Home, Hot Hues paint. Stripes next year and graphics.

RE: Taylor Park Colorado
Co pilot on the way to Colorado.
We stopped at rest stop first night in Kansas. It took till noon Saturday to load Fj and bikes on trailer. Built a Hitch hauler for bikes because FJ was 16 foot long and trailer was 16 foot long. I just pulled all the way forward and chained the front down and the hitch hauler and bikes were sitting right above the ramps that are mounted on rear as a gate and we block the hitch mount with a 4x4 so it didn’t bounce.
Second day we went to Manitau Springs and we wnt window shopping Went to Lake George to stay at RV park , best place close by to Manitou where Karen and Monty wanted to hang out for a few days

Lake George Cabins and RV Park. Overview

I researched RV campgrounds in Manitou Springs and not good. Found AWESOME reviews here and this works good.Owners were great and friendly, helpful and #1. They have great info on the property and are new owners and were hit by a tornado last year. OMG In the mountains in Colorado. YES.

Perfect mid stop to Taylor Park. Eleven Mile Canyon a must tour and 11 Mile Reservoir, riding trails and 4 wheeling close by.

Lake George Cabins and RV Park has tent sites as well. All RV sites have full hook-ups with 20, 30 or 50 amps available. Wi-Fi is available at the office and pets are allowed on leashes. We are very close to the South Platte River, Eleven Mile Canyon and Reservoir.
- See more at: http://www.colorado.com/rv-site/lake-geo...d-rv-park.
