From Fayetteville: Take Arkansas 16 east to Combs, turn south (right) on Forest Service Road (FS Road) 1007 for 4 miles, turn left on FS Road 1509 1/2 mile to the trailhead. From Cass: Left on FS Road 1520 for 8 milke to FS Road 1509, then north 4 milke to trailhead.

Do any of the campsites have 110 power for a popup camper?

Thanks,
Jake

Ok so a newbie question, I would like to get into this trip, I am in Independence MO and have a 07 WR450 and a F150 Crew Cab that I could drive / tow something or ride with someone else. Is there a ride sharing list? Also is this a basic camping site or does it have cabins?

I am a 37 year old average skill rider that has ridden for 15+ years but I stopped ridding for about the last 3 years and am now getting back into it so I am a little rusty.

Thanks,
Jake

Yes, You are welcome to come and we can set up a group ride together. The area is primative camping that we stay at and there is a campground 7 miles away and White rock Cabins are booked a year ahead and there is a cabin resort close by too, but not cheap.
Carol and I bring every thing including a shower and the kitchen sink. Shower available to anyone.
This will be perfect for you because I will be guiding a slower, less experienced group to see some Cool Waterfalls on the trail and also night runs for the more expiereenced. There will be a fast ride group there too that I will be riding with some too during the day.
Don't forget about the Swimming hole. Loo There will be a waterfall scenic drive to Redding Campground area with a short hike.
Eric the WFO Tree Trimmer lives down the street from me in Independence and we could set you up with him for the Drive possably.Jammin

I'm _sure you can count us in, memorial weekend rite?

Woohoo This is really coming together great. I called Carol today from work and told her to get Thursday off so we could get there early and I will talk to the boss and trade a Saturday for another day off so I can leave Thursday or Wednesday night. I already have 5 vacation days left too so I could work it in for _sure.
It is a good distance and GAS OMG is going up so I will need more PLAY TIME.
Now that racing season is over for me I can concentrate on the Mill Creek EVENT.
If you have not heard, I trashed my motor last weekend, and on the last lap 1 mile from the finish in 1 st Place/ Just burned the rings I think and ordering the 432 Big Bore and putting the ported and polished new head on the 2001 DRZ.
I have had a great first race season getting 2nd in points this year and was tied for 1st at the last race. This has really got me int to shape for the summer.Boxer
I would like to do a head count, so if you are going let us know so we can plan ahead for this. So far we have .

Carol, Dave, Jaime, Joe and Jason, Matt for _sure. Eric and passably the other Eric and wife, John and Malinda, Rodney, Damon and rockey ( We will get his bike ready one way or another ) Maddog, RGP32, Dirt Bike Dave, Tom/ Hillbilly and many others.

I will be there, I am thinking of driving down Thursday, possibly I can follow you Dave, I am bringing down my popup camper and want to make sure to get a good spot. Too bad about the power, maybe the generator is big enough my AC in the camper is only a small 110 room unit it has spoiled me :-)

Thanks,
Jake

Sounds great Jake. You probably won't need AC down there because it usually doesn't get that hot till later in the year. We will probably camp in the big camping area where there is room for 30 + camp spots right before the entrance to the ridding area. If it does get hot, we go down to the swimming hole during the hot part of the day.

RE: Mill Creek Arkansas Spring Ride Thread
The guys I normally ride with say they are going to go this time. They said the same thing the last 2 times we went there. 3/4 of us work together and one is the boss so we may be able to head down Thrs or Friday. I need to talk to Jaime about riding w/ us.
